Lunar Community Calendar
Why a lunar calendar?
A calendar allows us to move through natural cycles together. Staying with the feeling that everything is alive and changing all of the time, predictable patterns enable us to build meaningful relationships.
In this old Chinese version of a lunar calendar the new moon brings spring, which is followed by winter, then fall, and finally summer. Spring is the blue green dragon of the east that brings renewal and fresh growth. Winter is the black tortoise of the north that emerges from mystical beginnings with practical gifts. Fall is the white tiger of the west that protects us as we continue on our journey. Summer is the red bird of the south that warms us as we enjoy the bounty we have gathered and prepare for the next cycle.
A lunar calendar can help you change the common habit of approaching every day in the same way and with the same goal: checking as many things off your list as possible. Each day has a different temperament. I hope you enjoy!
